David Roland Cook (born December 20, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter. On May 21, 2008, he won the seventh season of the reality television show American Idol.

"David Cook" is the major-label debut album (second overall-he released an album entitled "Analog Heart" before joining the American Idol). The album will be officially released on November 18, 2008 in United States. It has produced a top twenty single, "Light On"

The first single released "Light On", which was released to U.S. radio on September 30, 2008. The song sold 109,000 digital downloads in it's first week of availability, leading to a #17 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the Hot Digital Songs chart.

"Declaration" was debuted on November 2, 2008 on Saturday Night Live where David performed with his band.
